      @jholster The end user certainly has more ability to change things in QGIS than comparable proprietary software. If there is consensus that the functionality should be enabled by default, it's an easy fix. (I think it used to be on by default in the past)

    @jholster But what's considered "core" functionality of a GIS is so broad because there are so many different use cases that you run into a very cluttered UI really fast.
